Guided Notes
Working with Data & Views
Structuring data well, navigation shortcuts, Freeze Panes and view options, and quick summaries with COUNTIF and SUMIF.
Organize data so Excel can work with it
Slide 1 / 5Excel's data tools work best on a clean list:
• One header row with a unique, clear name for each column. • One record per row — one sale, one employee, one order. • One kind of data per column — don't mix dates and notes. • No completely blank rows or columns inside the list. • No merged cells inside the data.
Follow these rules and sorting, filtering, PivotTables, and charts all "just work."
